On the Outside
With the Castle of Mur and the Castle of Guārdia as protection, the town of Guārdia de Noguera was born in a time when the frequent fights compelled to fortify these small population centres, in order to provide security to their inhabitants.
This was the case for the town of Guārdia, which constitutes a fortified ensemble surrounded by walls, to which one can enter only through its gateways made of stone.
If we enter trough one of this gateways, the one that is furthest to the north, and we continue down the Mayor Street, we find Casa Vila, built utilizing a part of the defensive walls, and today completely renovated to offer a high quality stay to those who want to know and live the history of these places, and enjoy impressive and unknown landscapes.
